ANGELA ATKINSON
Granddaughter of Chester (Bud) and Meryl Saddoris

Angela Atkinson enlisted in the U.S. Army during the summer of 1990. She went to boot camp in Fort Dix, New Jersey November 24, 1990. She excelled on the rifle range until she started having problems with her shoulder in the latter part of December.

Doctors were treating her with steroid shots in her shoulder. They were about to start testing on her shoulder when "Operation Desert Storm" broke out in Kuwait, January 16, 1991.

Their group graduated early and were sent in various directions for more training. There was no one left on the base. The doctors either went to Kuwait or Saudi Arabia. Atkinson along with a few others were given medical discharges and sent home shortly after everyone left.
